Game Vision Statement

Image
As I have looked further into my game idea this week I have found out how I want to make it what my end vision is. After doing the Unity Tutorial for week 5. I have gained a lot of knowledge on how I want my game to go. My game genre will be a 3D Shooter from the third person view. I want to take inspiration from the old Plants Vs Zombies games, where the zombies will spawn randomly and try to weaken the playable character. The game play will be very simple to understand, My controls will be the A and S keys and also Spacebar to fire the projectiles as the zombies move forward. To have an idea of what I would like to accomplish here is a video:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rc0u-_JKFks Now that you have an Idea of what I want my game to run I think all I need to do now is to find models for the unity game, and tweak around with the scripting a little bit to make it most ideal for my liking of the game and how I envision it. Unity Tutorial 03

And then the final part by randomizing the animals will be so useful as I want enemies to spawn randomly across the screen like the animals in the video. So far this unity tutorial has been the most useful to me and I can use most of this information to make my game, but I will still look further into how I can create the best game for mys elf From doing unity tutorial 03, this one so far has been the most useful and I can almost use most of this information to make my game as it shows everything I am going to need to help make my game. I will start from the first tutorial (2.1) which makes the 3D model move left to right like what I did with the first Unity Tutorial. And using the “if statement” so my character would not go off the screen to the left or right which will be so useful as you are going to need to be able to see the character to know where you are shooting. Then the next part from 2.2 I learned one of the main mechanics I am going to be using in my game which is shooting ...

Games MDA

And then finally the Aesthetics, like emotions of the game or a narrative. All these end elements that can bring a users attention into a game and fall in love with a character or hate one. This here is important if your wanting to make a story bases game but can be brought into mine as I want people to be tense while playing a shooter game  Game MDA's other wise known as Mechanics- Dynamics - Aesthetics. I will explain in my blog post what each one means and my feedback on how I will apply it to my final game. But you may be asking what is a game MDA. In simple terms its what the building blocks of any successful game and I will explain why now We will start off with the Mechanics. These mechanics are as simple as from making your character move, jump, shoot, or even some basic rules into the game that help it get started but when you start to combine these mechanics, it then becomes a Dynamic which I find interesting that they have their own separate term when they come together....
