Alpha gamer

This week i worked on getting the projectiles to collide with the enemy using the spacebar to fire them and having A and S as the 2 keys to move side to side. This week I did mainly focus on getting the game to look that little bit nicer instead of having the plain battlefield in the back. I simply downloaded some assets from the unity store and tried to make the scene look a little better. I did struggle a little bit this week with getting the enemies to take damage and figuring out how fast pace the game should be. I did plan on it being a quick arcade style game. I did not reach all the goals I wanted to do last week with getting an intro and outro to the game unfortunately. This has been difficult to make and I am running into so many coding problems with mixing different tutorials and just not really understanding what I am putting down but I am getting the game to slowly work

Unity Tutorial 08

In unity tutorial 08, I found that this week was not too difficult to last week besides from the quiz. I learned on how to make an enemy spawn in waves which may be very useful to me as I would like my enemies to respawn at random. I may change this as my game develops but I will get into that below. Starting off I went through exercise 4.4, In this I learned how to make enemies spawn in waves after all the rest were defeated using new tools from this tutorial like, For-Loops, Increment (++) operator and FindObjectsOfType. These here let the game know when to let the enemies to spawn in, and what amount is shown. I think this can be useful for my game but I am too deep in now to it to try change it around now. But in the future I think it can be a cool idea to implement if I do get the chance to do so. Afterwards I then complete the Challenge and Quiz. The challenge itself as usual is difficult to complete when you have no support like the tutorials. I was stuck at it for a while ...

Review Week Comments and Feedback

Image
At the start of this year I was not too keen on the blogs and doing the commenting but as the year went on I started to enjoy doing them a lot more, it was a fun way to connect with all the other students and have a look of their multimedia progress through out the years. One of my favourite ones this year that I found myself looking at was Kyle Wrights and Adam Elders. They were so up to date with their work and their projects and overall work has been amazing. They have been real inspirations throughout the year for me and have motivated me to do my work, so massive shout out them them. Started off with the feedback in, I did read all the feedback that I had gotten, I had taken some advice in but from the start I had my idea kind of set straight for what I wanted to do with my game, A few things have changed and I did try to take on the feedback that I was given. But overall I did not find it that helpful for me as I like doing things my way but I was very grateful for all the f...

Week 9 Reading and Writing

Image
Looking back at the beginning of this semester especially with multimedia development 1. I have found it some how of a struggle. At first it was my time management and being able to find times to do my work while keeping a healthy balance of other work for the course, my part time job and just having an over all social life too. All the work looked so scary as there was 6 tasks to complete each week. And that there was the biggest put off and I found myself falling behind as I thought I would never get it done. But as the weeks went on and I started finding time I realised that it did not take me as long as I thought it once would of. This module has defiantly been the most challenging this year, but there are also positives that I had found in it.  Firstly I have to say I loved doing the twitter tasks and seeing everyone else's tweets. I think it was a fun way to connect with the class and it was most different thing I liked doing this year across the course. I also liked do...
