Project Progress

As of my last blog post not much has change besides adding a bit more of length to the levels and more obstacles in the way. I had user testing on my website among my family as i I wanted feedback on my game and on ways I can try improve on it. Some lines of feedback they felt like it was too short and needed to be extended on. So I went in and added in more platforms.

Project Process

After this weeks progress on my final 2D platformer game I was able to do my first working test run. With all my scripting added. I managed to add a Camera Movement script, Death Script and  Finish line script.  I have made it so the platforms are a lot smaller to make the game a little more tricky to play one and to try to test the skills of the player I had also added and move the purple cubes of death in multiple places across the map and I made on underneath the map so when the player dies and falls he resets at the start of the current level the player is on. The camera movement also follows the player across the map and onto the next level. Also with the death script anything in purple will send the player back to the start of the level if it is touches. I used an game object and scripting to make this possible. Finish Line script is applied to the end of the level and will make you teleport to the next level which is labelled "level2"

I have started to build my first 2D game today. I started this by opening up the Unity Hub and started a new project. I went into this project with one image only. That being a plain white square that I would use as my building blocks for making this game possible. I started off simple by making the white cube my player and added my movement script. So he can move side to side. I did say in my game document I would like it to be a constant movement to the right but I say it would be a little too difficult for the pace I had made the game. I had also added a jumping mechanic too to the player. I had also so far stuck with my colour scheme with the black and red I believe it works very well and it helps contrasts all the different surroundings in the game When I move on to next weeks tasks I will want it so the purple cube causes the player to die and restart at the start of the level again. I also need it so when the player falls through the map he also dies so I will need to try figure

Going through the process of making this book had its ups and downs through out the year. Trying to write a chapter is not as easy as some people may think it may be. But I have learned a lot throughout this year. Making my part on VR/AR/MR was really fun as I had a good knowledge from even this year about these topics. I am also a big VR fan and own one of my own. But doing all the reading weeks through out this year as thought me many reading techniques on how to skim whilst gathering proper information. Or even down to writing with starting off a paragraph or making an conclusion to an essay which will be valuable lessons going forward. But making this chapter this year was very fun and would not of been something I would of thought when coming into this course. Working and talking to everyone who was working on the chapter with me was a blast and I got to know some people I would never of really talked to. Overall making my part of the chapter was fun as it is something I have goo

Chapter 7 - VR / AR What is VR / AR / MR? - Luke Meredith When looking into different reality's you have your own eye sight which captures the real world. But in today's modern technology we have different types of ways to explore new things differently. VR meaning virtual reality meaning everything in our view is now digital.  AR meaning Augmented reality is the mix of realities. A mix of real life and a digital world and uses digital information into the real world, Pokémon GO would be an example of this.  MR is Mixed reality is the mixing of real life and virtual worlds. In this reality, digital and physical objects co-exists and will interact in real time Virtual Reality- Virtual Reality is our virtual world. But it is so much more than that. Virtual Reality- Virtual Reality is our virtual world. But is so much more than that. It is one of the most recent ground breaking parts of technology, with big companies such as Sony, Meta (formally Facebook) and Valve. Have all had their says in VR and are producing bigger and better every release they make making it a lot better for the gaming industry to make full immersive 360 degree game play. Or for colleges and schools to learn more about mechanics or the human body and being able to look into these scientific researches in simulation. Augmented Reality - Augmented Reality is also a very popular use, mainly found on smaller devices such as your mobile phone. One of the best examples of Augmented reality would be the craze of Pokémon Go back in 2016 where Pokémon came to life in the real world. But it can also be used to find information on your area making more useful than for just gaming. It can tell you where you are, via location and what there is around you.  Mixed Reality

After reading on Judy's piece on Game Framework MDA she very well describe what it is and everything there is behind it. She started off with a very well written introduction that set off her part brilliantly. She then went into examples of MDA in a game which would help people understand what they are in a further stance by mentioning games like Fortnite Minecraft and Roblox well known games so people can visualise where these aesthetics come in. She then went through what makes a game interesting when using examples such as when there is an Emotional experience, Achievement and Challenge. As a gamer myself I find all these do play a big part but there is also so much more that goes in. I know Judy was setting an example of what needs to go into a game but maybe there can be a little more to expand and elaborate on. Judy done an amazing after reading her part and there was not much to criticise her on beside maybe coming up to the last part. I then moved onto Brandon Bells part o
