Games Decisions
This Flow channel makes the player interested because there is a good flow of difficulty and the player has actual fun playing the game. I will show a chart on how this works. But I personally think this is something smart that game designers do and I have found myself fallen into all the categories when the game is too hard or too easy or just that its perfect for me
If you start the game too easy and remains that way. People will get bored too easy and lose interest on what is going on. But if the game is too difficult from the beginning the player will become stressed and anxious and not wanting to play. But if you start you game easily and slowly let the challenges get harder and the player skill increases you get the Flow Channel and this is where game designers are smart about making their games
After this weeks reading I have learned a lot about Flow Designs, about what they are, what they do and how they can affect the game itself. I will give my thoughts about it down below and what I have learned from this reading this week.
What I learned that a Flow Design is something about a game that keeps the player interested until they realise that they have spent all day in their room playing it for 6 hours straight, I have found myself doing this multiple times and it is honestly something I understand now and how it works. For this flow design to work you are going to need a healthy balance of challenge and player skill as the game develops, as a small rise through out the game.
