Week 9 Reading and Writing

Looking back at the beginning of this semester especially with multimedia development 1. I have found it some how of a struggle. At first it was my time management and being able to find times to do my work while keeping a healthy balance of other work for the course, my part time job and just having an over all social life too. All the work looked so scary as there was 6 tasks to complete each week. And that there was the biggest put off and I found myself falling behind as I thought I would never get it done. But as the weeks went on and I started finding time I realised that it did not take me as long as I thought it once would of. This module has defiantly been the most challenging this year, but there are also positives that I had found in it.

Firstly I have to say I loved doing the twitter tasks and seeing everyone else's tweets. I think it was a fun way to connect with the class and it was most different thing I liked doing this year across the course. I also liked doing the reading. I never usually read on my spare time but reading about games and all the process and mind games that do go into them had my interest along side the videos really took my attention to doing them.

A small negative was the Unity. The unity tutorials and the overall game making this year was the most difficult across the whole course and talking to my fellow students I think that they would agree, reading their blog posts and keeping up with their timeline of the progress of their game was interesting to me. The part I found most hard was just the coding. The brain storming and the thinking of the mechanics of the game was easy and fun to do. But putting it all together was not one bit. Coding and looking back on tutorials and trying to mix and match them in together was not easy and at times frustrating.

Overall doing stuff on the blog over the year was fun to do. I enjoyed doing these type ups as I got to speak freely on what I discovered and my plans for my games and also getting and giving feedback. And then on top of that looking at what everyone else is doing and what they are up to was very intriguing.

This image is from my Game Design Document post. I chose this post from this year because I believe that this was the most fun part for me. Coming up with ideas for my game and really advancing further in what I want to do and how I wanted my game to run. Although I did not get most of what I wanted from it in. I did enjoy imagining of what could and can be

For the future of this module, I do not think people would like to be working with Unity as much such as myself as I know it caused stressed amongst everyone with the coding going wrong, with the idea of the game and just things not going their way. If there was an alternative way to do it I think I would love to do it that way. Overall I loved doing the writing and reading parts especially the blog as I did enjoy doing it but can be an effort at times. Maybe it was a little to much for us this year with the high pass grade and the high work load. But I know everyone is giving their 100% such as myself. Would of liked to do more lab work but it was nice to have the time do our work in class and get the lecturers help.
